WhatsApp is reportedly adding longer group descriptions and subjects

According to reports, WhatsApp, the messaging app owned by Meta, is rolling out longer group descriptions and subjects on its beta version for Android users. Users will be able to describe groups more accurately with these changes, WABetainfo reports.

With this new change, group descriptions will be increased from 512 characters to 2048 characters. As a result, group admins will have more room to provide information about their group in addition to any important details they wish to include

Another new feature has been that allows group admins to name their groups freely using up to 100 characters in the group subject. This will facilitate the identification of the group’s purpose.

According to the source, users who have updated to the up-to-date version of WhatsApp from the Play Store will have the option to select this feature. In addition, the messaging app was said to be adding a feature that would let people transmit high-resolution photos to one another.

Users will have the option of configuring the quality of a photo by clicking on a new setting icon which will be under the drawing tool header. This will give users the control on how high quality their photos will be. As of now, these are the updates according to reports.
