Stocks of Google Falls Down By Nearly 8% After Bard Ad Shows Inaccurate Answer

The stocks of Google fell by 8% after the company launched its ad on Wednesday. The latest ad for Google’s artificial intelligence chatbot Bard presented an inaccurate answer that couldn’t escape from the eyes of the audience.

Reportedly, Google posted a video from its Twitter handle showcasing the demo of how the experimental conversational AI service powered by LaMDA works. The internet giant states that Google’s Language Model for Dialogue Applications will give chatbots proper knowledge, which will further help them engage in random conversations.

The ad, however, starts with a question asking about the discoveries from the James Webb Space Telescope that can be shared with a 9-year-old. The artificial intelligence chatbot from Google‘Bard’ instantly accumulated two correct answers. However, the result stood inaccurate. Brad concluded that the telescope took the first pictures of a planet outside our solar system. However, according to the records of NASA, the correct answer is that the Very Large Telescope of the European Southern Observatory took the first picture of the same.

The mistake was widely criticized, and the ongoing game in the artificial intelligence chatbot sector heated up to an extent.

After the advertisement aired, Google stock dropped by 7.7% to close at 99.37. Simultaneously, Microsoft lost a fraction to 266.73, striking out average gains.
