Sri Lanka To Form A New Cabinet, Amidst The Country’s Worst-Seen Crisis

Sri Lanka is all set to have a new Cabinet on Monday. In the current state of the island country’s economic crisis, the government is introducing a new Cabinet to tackle the public hate against the government due to the on-going economic crisis.

On Sunday night, all the 26 members of the government submitted their resignation without any public explanation.

Dinesh Gunawardena, Education Minister and Leader of the House told the reporters that he handed over the mass resignation letters to Mahinda Rajapaksa, Sri Lankan Prime Minister.

He also said that Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa will be meeting his younger brother and Sri Lankan President Gotabaya Rajapaksa on Monday to discuss about the further measures.

Gunawardena said, “We discussed the situation in the country at length. There will be solutions to the ongoing fuel and power crisis.”

The netizens are enraged at the government for not taking adequate measures and steps towards correcting the nation’s worst seen economic crisis.

Sri Lanka is undergoing its worst economic crisis since it gained independence from the British Colonial rule in 1948. The major reason behind it is the lack of foreign currency which is affecting the country’s ability to import fuels and important gases.

People are protesting against the lack of fuel, cooking gas and long power cuts which are disrupting their day-to-day lives.
