PM Modi to start his ‘three-day, three-nation’ tour on Monday

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to start his ‘three-day, three-nation’ tour  to Europe on Monday, which will be his first international tour this year. This will also be his first international visit after Russia launched its troops on Ukraine.

Indian Prime Minister who is ready to visit France, Germany and Denmark said, “My visit to Europe comes at a time when the region faces many challenges and choices. Through my engagements, I intend to strengthen the spirit of cooperation with our European partners, who are important companions in India’s quest for peace and prosperity.”

Vinay Mohan Kwatra, the newly appointed foreign secretary also said that PM Modi will “exchange perspectives” on the Ukraine crisis. According to his statement, energy security will be one of the important discussions in the bilateral meetings with the leaders of Europe.

Further, Kwatra stated that energy security is a prime reason in the lagging of recent geopolitical; developments.

Kwatra while putting forward his opinion on Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s first international trip amidst Russia-Ukraine war said, “Our position on Ukraine has been clear. First, there should be a cessation of hostilities; second, a solution must be found out through dialogue and diplomacy,” he said, adding this view had been conveyed very clearly to various countries.
