Man in the US Arrested for Pouring Water on his Brother in a Dispute Over a Slice of Pie

A man in Florida, aged 64, has been charged with first-degree felony aggravated battery after allegedly pouring two glasses of water over his elder brother during an argument over a pie.

David Sherman Powelson was arrested on Wednesday and could face up to 30 years in prison and a $10,000 fine if convicted. The charge against the accused may cause him a minimum of three years of imprisonment.

According to the Lee County Sheriff’s Office, the argument started after Powelson ate a piece of pie that his elder brother had been saving for himself to consume later. However, after the argument intensified, the victim called for help.

The police responded to a 911 call about a “physical domestic dispute” at around 8:30 pm local time. Although the victim suffered no injuries, he feared for his safety.

Powelson explained that the argument started because he ate the pie, which had been left in the refrigerator for days. He headed to the kitchen, filled two large glasses of water, and poured them over his brother to “cool him down.”
