The foreign criminals’ deportation law will be enacted under the latest Nationality and Borders Act. It will expedite the deportation of foreign criminals with a vision to secure those who have asked for protection, sighting the law of the UK as victims of “modern slavery.”
The Home Secretary of the UK, Suella Braverman, stated that it is not rightful for the genuine victims of modern slavery who have waited for long to get the protections that they require. Suella said that the protections are important because of the flagrant abuse of the system. She added that with the changes in the law, anyone who committed an offense could be refused protection and can be deported from the country.
The measures will come into effect under the latest Nationality and Borders Act. This means in future, the Home Office caseworkers can claim evidence of modern slavery overtaking a victim’s statement.
